Blueberry Rotary Stem Removal
CMP manufacturers a rotary destemmer used to remove the stems from IQF frozen blueberries typically located at the outlet of the IQF tunnel. Typically, 4-5 feet in diameter, the destemmer is highly effective in the removal of stems up to 10,000 pounds per hour production rates. The drum sits on trunnion wheels and is manufactured from sections of stainless steel slot hole screens. A series of shelves along the length of the drum assist with the agitation of the frozen blueberries while the drum turns. Stems break off and fall off the berries, drop through the screen onto a trash conveyor located underneath the drum. Blueberries exit the system through a chute and flow to the sizers and packaging equipment.
