CMP President Makes Three Years in a Row as one of Atlantic Canada’s Top 50 CEOs by Atlantic Business Magazine
Charlottetown, PEI – Charlottetown Metal Products Ltd (“CMP”) President Trevor Spinney has been named one of Atlantic Canada’s Top 50 CEOs for 2023 by Atlantic Business Magazine at a gala event held at the Halifax Convention Centre. This makes three years in a row he has been awarded this recognition.
Spinney joined CMP in 2011 and led the technical sales team for six years before taking an ownership position in the company and becoming President in 2017. In 2019, FPS Food Process Solutions (“FPS”) acquired a majority stake in CMP. As part of the FPS family, Trevor has overseen the rapid expansion of CMP and the development of End-to-End Solutions for global food processing customers.
“I am proud to be honoured alongside this exceptional group of talented, local business leaders and celebrate this award on behalf of our entire CMP team. We have overcome many challenges over the past four years including COVID, skilled trade scarcity, and rapid inflation, but with hard work and dedication, together we are thriving,” stated Spinney.
Spinney, a McGill Engineering Grad, is a results-driven executive with a 36-year track record in leading people to deliver unprecedented business results for customers through the delivery of engineered products and services. With Spinney at the helm, CMP has more then doubled its staff to 160 people over the past four years, tripled its manufacturing space to 100,000 sq ft, and increased revenue by 2.5 times.
“Trevor has continued to lead year-on-year solid results, providing customers exceptional engineering solutions combined with FPS’s freezing and chilling expertise”, stated Jeffrey Chang, President, FPS Food Process Solutions.
CMP is a top employer in PEI. The recently expanded manufacturing facility is nearing capacity with efforts in 2022 and 2023 centered on a new innovation centre and new product development team to develop advancements in hygienic equipment and more energy efficient food processing equipment. The Moncton engineering branch continues to grow with a focus on delivering complete French fry and potato specialty product lines.
