Charlottetown Metal Products (CMP) is a proud member of the FPS Food Process Solutions global family. Since 1956, we have provided innovative, hygienic food processing solutions for our global customers. Based in Miltonvale Park, PEI, Canada, we have over 40 engineers on our team, over 100 fabricators and installation technicians, and 100,000 square feet (9300 sq m) of manufacturing space. We have invested significantly to develop a best in class innovation center to help round out our full solution offering to include End-to-End complete process line solutions. We are experts in providing hygienic food processing in our End-to-End solutions. Our application engineers will work collaboratively with you to solve your process problems, create equipment layouts in 2D/3D, and leverage our strategic supplier network and inhouse controls capability to deliver turn-key solutions.
FPS + CMP INNOVATION CENTER
In 2023, CMP and FPS launched the Innovation Center located at our manufacturing complex in Miltonvale Park, Prince Edward Island, Canada. This significant investment in both people and place will focus on the development of new and innovative hygienic food processing solutions across the FPS family of companies.
We have completed the development of a state-of-the-art End-to-End test loop for packaged food products. Several key technologies were incorporated into a forty-foot conveyor loop to handle the transfer, alignment, merge, and diverge of trays, pouches, and bags to and from chillers, freezers, and other processing equipment.
Projects now underway include advances in full End-to-End process line solutions that bring operational efficiencies in the areas of fluid removal, cooking, frying, drying, blanching, Pulsed Electric Field, cooling, and freezing. Our innovation projects focus on improvements in energy utilization, process automation, and increasing production yields.
