Building Maintenance Technician

We are looking for a building maintenance technician that will play a key role in ensuring that buildings are safe, functional, and well-maintained. Below are some key responsibilities and skills required to be successful in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspecting Facilities: Regularly inspecting buildings for any maintenance needs or safety hazards

  • Repairing and Maintaining Systems: Performing routine maintenance tasks such as HVAC system checks, plumbing repairs, equipment preventative maintenance, general carpentry work and other miscellaneous tasks

  • Responding to Maintenance Requests: Addressing and resolving maintenance requests promptly and effectively

  • Ensuring Safety and Compliance: Adhering to safety standards and building codes while performing maintenance and repair tasks

  • Record-Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed, as well as inventory of supplies and equipment

  • Emergency Maintenance: Being available for emergency maintenance calls outside of regular working hours

  • Communication: Communicating effectively with management, coworkers, and contractors

Skills Required:

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in various maintenance tasks such as HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical work, carpentry and general repairs

  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to identify issues and determine the best course of action for repairs

  • Attention to Detail: Being thorough in inspections and repairs to ensure safety and functionality

  • Time Management: Efficiently managing time to complete tasks within deadlines

  • Customer Service: Providing excellent customer service to all internal and external customers

  • Teamwork: Collaborating with other maintenance staff and contractors as needed

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy equipment or climbing ladders

Education and Experience:

  • Education: High school diploma required. Vocational training or certifications in relevant fields such as HVAC, plumbing, or electrical systems would be beneficial

  • Experience: Previous experience in building maintenance or a related field is preferred
