Stainless Steel - Fabrication Welder

Job Purpose:
To fabricate, assemble and install structural metal products, such as framework or shells for machinery, ovens, tanks, stacks, conveyors, cookers and metal parts according to work orders, verbal instructions and blueprints.
Duties and Responsibilities:
This position requires an experienced, energetic, and detailed-focused individual that wants to be part of a growing team and company. The ideal candidate will have a background in fabrication and welding and have the drive, organizational skills required to work seamlessly with a dedicated team of metal fabricators to meet the immediate short- and long-term objectives of the department. This is a partial list of the duties to be performed:
Actively participates in CMP’S Quality Program to ensure products are assembled and welded to meet or exceed our customers’ expectations
Perform flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead butt seams, margined to #4
Achieve “desirable” weld characteristics for all joints
Ability to restrain material to maintain dimensional accuracy
Must be able to determine necessity for and method of back-purge as required
Able to identify materials on drawings and cross reference them with the bill of materials
Recognizes components and correctly identifies placement and orientation
Must be able to transcribe accurate measurements and layout on parts
Verifies conformance of workpiece to specifications, using square, ruler, and measuring tape
Must be able to undertake advanced material manipulation including dogging, dollying, and stretching
Creates a regime for restricting part distortion during welding to maintain dimensional accuracy
May set up and operate machine tools associated with fabricating shops, such as radial drill press, end mill, and edge planer
Use powered saws, portable grinder, and hand tools
Maintain proper equipment; repair when needed
Complete all department administration duties as required
Work extended hours and travel to job sites as per job requirements
Qualifications:
Ideal candidate will have minimum 2 - 3 years of welding experience in the relevant manufacturing trade for food processing equipment.

Must possess strong communication skills (speaking and listening)
Must possess a solid work ethic
Must have a valid passport with the ability to travel to U.S.A.
Must be able to perform basic math operations
Strong welding knowledge and application of Tig. All other disciplines are nice to have
Driver’s license required
What You Will Need to Succeed:
Technical Diploma, or equivalent work experience
Previous experience in a leadership roll
Clear understanding of and dedication to meeting deadlines
Understanding of how to forge authentic relationships with their employees
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot effectively and thrive under pressure
Detail -oriented – high attention to detail
Willingness to participate in training as required
Working Conditions:
The job requires a person to work in a range of circumstances from regular evening and weekend work, shift work, working outdoors, working with challenging clients, working on the road and so forth.
The job requires working in extreme temperatures from -18 - + 45 Celsius
On the road the shifts are 12 hours a day 7 days a week
Employees must be able to stand throughout a 12 hour shift
Physical Requirements:
The Job requires the employee to perform a variety of physical tasks including the following:
Lifting up to 75 lbs. repeatedly
Working at heights, this would include ladders, scaffolding, scissor trucks or on top of equipment
Must be able to work in awkward and confined spaces to perform welding duties
